In a recent development, The Pokemon Company has announced a Mystery Gift event for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, featuring TM223, Metal Sound. Some trainers have struggled to obtain this TM due to an oversight, but fear not—help is on the way!
Traditionally, old Pokemon games had various ways to acquire TMs—found on the ground, given by Gym Leaders, or bought from stores. However, the developer introduced a crafting system in the Gen 9 games. Trainers needed specific materials gained by capturing or defeating Pokemon, allowing them to craft TMs using machines scattered throughout the overworld.
Metal Sound TM, a coveted move currently out of reach for Pokemon Scarlet players, presents a challenge. The hitch? It requires Shieldon materials, specifically Shieldon Claws. Here’s the snag—Shieldon is exclusive to Pokemon Violet, leaving Scarlet players in a bind.
Solving the Mystery:
To address this, The Pokemon Company plans to distribute TM223 (Metal Sound) via a Mystery Gift starting December 26, 2023. A subsequent patch in January 2024 will resolve the issues surrounding this elusive TM.
For Pokemon Scarlet trainers eager for Metal Sound, the path isn’t entirely closed. While Shieldon and its evolution, Bastiodon, are absent in the wild for Scarlet players, a solution lies in trading with Pokemon Violet players. Alternatively, savvy trainers can leverage online connections or breed a level 1 Shieldon to naturally learn Metal Sound at level 10.
In the ever-evolving Pokemon world, challenges arise, but so do solutions. Stay tuned for the Mystery Gift event and gear up to add Metal Sound TM to your Pokemon Scarlet arsenal!
